Adding your own markup to domestic and international quotes

How courier businesses set their own commission on domestic and cross-border deliveries they sell through Pigee Courier.

Pigee Courier lets you sell more than local runs. You can quote and sell domestic and international deliveries through the Pigee carrier network, and add your own markup to quotes so each shipment earns your business a margin.

How it works

  1. A customer asks you, or your website widget, for a price to send a parcel.
  2. Pigee Courier fetches live carrier rates for the route.
  3. Your markup is added to the rate automatically.
  4. The customer sees one clear price and pays.

Setting your markup

Open Pricing and set your markup for international deliveries, and for domestic carrier deliveries where the option is shown. You decide the percentage. The markup is part of the price the customer pays, so you do not need to invoice it separately.

Choosing the right level

  • Start with a modest markup and review it after your first few weeks of orders.
  • Remember card fees are taken from the total, so check your net margin, not just the headline.
  • Keep your markup competitive on common routes, and higher on awkward or remote routes that take more of your time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set a different markup for local jobs?

Local jobs use the prices you set yourself in Pricing, so your margin is already built in. The markup setting is for deliveries quoted through the carrier network.

Will customers see my markup?

No. Customers see one total price for the delivery.
